I just bought my boat and want to fix a few things, one being a broken section on the dash beside the steering wheel. The previous owner did a really nice job of repairing a couple of places with something like white vinyl tape. Since I don't have any tape to stick over it I'd like ot fix it correctly. I have fiberglass and I've worked with it before but should I use that or something like Marine-Tex to fill this in and sand it smooth? The boat looks good but it appears to have been clear-coated so I plan to remove the gauges, steering, throttle, etc... and prime, paint and clear that whole area and make it shine again. I also bought a new switch panel so I'm going to fill in the hole from the OEM cluster and cut the hole for my new switches. Any insight is greatly appreciated.
