Glastron Intimidator

Call me crazy, but I have been a growing fan of the old Glastron Intimidator's. I was bored one night and cruising youtube boat vids and came across a few video's of them. Here's an example...

I remember seeing a I/O and a Jet version of these boats growing up and liked the style, low-to-the-water stance and color schemes. Digging into one in the future as a resto project would be cool. It might be a few years as our family is growing this summer, but it's a thought.

Has anyone had any experience with these models?

Those Glastron Carlson Intimidators are sharp looking muscle boats!! There is one right across the lake from me, guy bought it brand new in the 80's, doesn't bring it out very much anymore tho but it's always there in the lift. The boat has the same power as my Enchanter, 350 Merc/Alpha I drive. I love the exhaust tips coming out of the engine hatch!

I suppose its that they are unique. You look at a lot of family boats built today and they all look the same. It's kind of like an old muscle car. They all had their own distinct features.

A lot like the pancake bow design, the windshield, that cool dash set up, and like you said Fever, the exhaust hanging over the stern. When do you ever see that now...or even back when they were new for that matter.

That's exactly how i look at our 70's/80's go-fast boats, that was the "muscle car" era of powerboating i think! Things are so much different now, it's either cookie cutter family bow riders or pontoons, muscle boats at the lake are almost as rare as seeing classic muscle cars out in the wild now'a'days! Yeah you see a muscle boat out once in a while, but just like with cars it's a sea (no pun intended) of lame and mundane souless faces in the crowd! I love taking the Enchanter out, it get's looks everywhere i go, sure doesn't blend in with everyone else! The classic Glastrons are the same way, they all had their own look to them!

The Glastron Carlson boat were awesome boats. I friend of mine has an intimidator and it is a sweet boat. I almost bought on in pieces for 500 dollars but someone beat me to it. If I cannot get a check a jet glastron Carlson would be great. they were built in my home town of Austin texas.

here is a website with a lot of info including almost all the brochures from the boats
