I have been looking for some Life jackets like the one's used in racing .
Got any brands or outlets to look at. I was told something about a special kind needed for LOTO shoot out . This would be for when I would be using a Helmet. Thanks.

Lifeline is what all the big boys are running with
I am 208 is that a big boy?
That is what I have been looking for . Thanks.
All I was coming up with was POS. I think the neck support would a must.
The rules say 100mph impact.. I would think the jacket should divert water away from the helmet.. I don't want a You tube vid of my crash unless it says (and he swam away!):surf:

Lifeline is about the only one racers use but hold onto yer wallet......they start around $400 for the cheap one. Mustang makes a decent high speed one too i hear. Leg straps are a must for high speed. Used to see a bunch of 100mph vests with leg straps through bass pro....not so much anymore.

I think that a pfd that will stay in place ( strap between legs ) during an unpleasant event and also one that will turn an unconscious person face up in the water in addition to proper buoyancy. Proper fitment is a must, and test it. Folks come in lots of different sizes and shapes. Jump in the water with it and see if it does what it is supposed to do. Your life or the life of your crew will depend on it. There does seem to be a happy/unhappy reverse correlation inverse combination between the presence of safety equipment and the actual necessity of having to use it most of the time. From 'The Book of Jim' , Chapter on High Speed, low drag, and Defying Gravity : Concerning safety equipment and its presence on site, 'If you have it, your chances of needing it are diminished in proportion to how much you have. If you do not have it, your chances of needing it go up dramatically

You could try poking around over on Scream and Fly.

Sometimes the gang over there has done some group purchases on Lifelines and the odd one also pops up in their marketplace section from time to time as well. :)

Lifeline is the only way to go. They are about $300+. Both of my sons have one and use it every time they drive their blown Schiada.

One thing, They ARE NOT Coast Guard approved. Just carry a couple of cheap CG approved vests in the boat....Skip
