There are detailed picture posting instructions in the help forum.

To clarify, you do not have to pay to post pictures that are hosted elsewhere. You do have to be a supporting member to attach pictures and upload them to our servers, as we then have to pay to host them.
Some of the hosting sites that are in the help thread are no longer free, but there are still some free picture posting sites available. Perhaps some of the other members can post the ones they use that are still free.
