Maxims 5 blade props

253 SED

Active member
Anyone have any REAL life test time with this prop on a 97 Convincer 253 hull...Am thinking about trying one but wanna hear some feed back before i get carried away and look for a good used one..and a new one is out of the question until i try one...Merc sure is proud of these props with a big price tag...Thanks all..Hopefully someone can give me some feedback on this hull and 5 blade prop

5 blades will be hard on a Bravo drive. Lot of people run them but I think they will be lacking the cupping that 253's seem to like. more of a medium/neutral bow lift and heavy stern lift prop similar to a Bravo I prop just more bite to help with higher x-dimensions.

Not on my 253 at least.......wanted to lift stern too hard and not carry bow. Mine seems to have a bit higher X-dimension though. A 253 likes a lot of bow lift. A Bravo I with added cup is very good. A Revolution 4 should work good out of the box. Hydromotive also now makes a hybrid 4 blade with added bow lift.
