Mercury Ride Guide Rack and Pinion Cable

Hey Checkmate friends,

I'm looking for a cable for the steering of my V-Mate. If at all possible, I would like to keep the look of the helm original, and find a Ride Guide cable to replace my existing cable that seized solid during the winter.

Anyone know where I can find a Ride Guide Rack and Pinion Cable?

The part number is 11111A13 or 11111A14 being either a 13 or 14 foot cable, both of which will work for me.

Thanks for the help!

Rick

You and me both! I've been trying to track one down for the last month.

I found one on EBay but they wanted $200 for it. I can't believe that someone isn't making an aftermarket cable. It's not like Mercury is an unknown brand...lol.

I've been reading also that the newer steering systems need a smaller access hole through the dash, so we will need to come up with some sort of plate to trim things up.

If I find anything I will post a link.

Thanks for the replies everyone, people on this site are so helpful. That eBay ad came up after my request so it wasn't originally there. I ordered one cable and i will make sure its right before ordering more. It does say new from old stock, hopefully they are in good condition from just sitting around for years. UPS is saying they are delivering the first one tomorrow. I will let you guys know how it looks.

And yes sippyrat, that is exactly what mine look like.

Thanks!!!
I just picked one off of EBAY also. Funny how you look for months and nothing comes up and then out of the clear blue you have your choice of 5!
I should be set now for a while.

I'm in the process of installing Seastar hydraulic on my 2100 and was going to offer you the parts from my stock system. Glad you found what you needed.

My brother just went to Seastar on his Exciter, what a great system and a great upgrade. What length are your cables? Do you know?

I've never seen that Ride and Glide as a dual system, pretty slick. I guess I do not have enough horsepower to warrant it. :rof:
