Mercury's Fury

I was wondering if anyone has had a chance to try Mercury's Fury on a Pulsare. I'm thinking about giving one a try this year and I wanted to see if anyone had any experience. If so, what pitch did you use and how dod it compare to what you were using? Thanks!

I have a 25p that I use on my 250 Etec. Fast, smooth but less lift than some. Sort of a semi-cleaver design. I like it, it is the best 3 blade I have run but I still prefer my 4 blade Rev4.

We ran a 24p on my dad's enchanter when he had it and it performed better than the 25p trophy we were originally using, better hole shot and a couple mph on the top end.

We still have the prop and I have ran it on my predictor and Vmate, though it's too low pitch for those boats I can still fill the amount of lift vs a 26p chopper and 27p trophy plus.

We will be trying it out on dad's starliner once we get it in the water.

As far as pitch goes, they tell you to go one pitch lower than your currently running.

Post your specs on your boat and we can probably make some pitch recommendations.

What length, motor, setback, etc..?

Think I will be trying a Fury 24 pitch on my 2100BR Pulsare this summer. Want to see if it out performs my current 25 pitch Trophy Plus. From what I have read it should do better than the Trophy in every way.

The Fury is not for every setup. It does not have the lift of the Trophy and needs to be run about 1" deeper in the water to get the most out of it. The big blade area does a good job of grabbing the water and moving the boat forward. That is the concept of a semi-cleaver; it transfers the power to pushing forward rather than lifting the bow.
On my setup because the weight of an Etec seems to be father back than other motors it already has a lot of bow lifting leverage and does not rely as much on the prop.
Worth a try!

Thanks for the advice. My boat is a 21 Pulsare BR with a 250 ProXS. I have 8 inches of setback.

My dad had a 250 ProXS on a 21' Hydrostream Voyager and we ran a 27p labbed trophy plus most of the time but it would also spin a 28p trophy plus. That hull is really efficient due the tunnel. We ran the 24p fury on there a couple times and it definitely had the hole shot but not the top end. I would probably shoot for a 26p fury if I were you, that motor has all kinds of power I think any smaller is going to be too low.

agree with Mark

i agree with mark.. i think it is a good prop with the right set-up but that is the key.. i have a 3.0 liter 225 with 13.5 inches of set-back.. My trophy ran better than the Fury in every way. Granted my trophy is worked.... but i still like the handling of the trophy over the Fury. As mark was saying it likes to be run a little deeper and i'm running higher than what it likes. i would say this would be a good prop for someone who is not running as much set-back maybe??

WICheckmate... What pitch are you running with the Trophy and what did you have done to it. I'm currently using a 26 Trophy Plus.

prop pitch

The pitch on the trophy... and its an "original trophy" not a trophy plus... is actually or started out as a 23 pitch prop... It was labbed and had cup added so i'm guess its about a 24 pitch..... I have tried the 26 pitch fury... and the 24... both were really doggy out of the hole.. Now i see you have a 250 not a 225 so your extra ponies might make a diffrence here but the 26 pitch i had a hard time getting above 5600 rpm... and it would take a while to get their. then i went down and had the 24 pitch for a season... it was ok with just me and another person but you put 4 people in the boat and it just didn't perform very well. I'm back down to 2 props.. for skiing i have a 21 pitch high five.. HAND DOWN best ski watersport prop. Holds threw turns doesn't blow out and holeshot is rediculous. Then all other times i have my trophy on there.. good holeshot... Midrange punch is way better than the fury. and my top end is faster to. I think the reason its faster is because you can jack the motor up higher without it slipping than the fury. I think the fury would be optimal on like a walleye boat or something. now i wish i still had the Fury so i could send it to you to try so you could see the results for yourself but once again.. your set-up is dif. than mine being you have 25 xtra ponies along with your set-back is different i believe.
