My Introduction, Overdue!

Hello all!

I have been on this forum for three years now, and I have never made a welcome post! Well, here it is!

I own a 1982 Checkmate Sportfire with a 1989 Mercury 135 BlackMax outboard. The boat was originally my dad's in high school. He bought the boat when he was 18, just four years after it was new, for around $3,500. This boat is well known in the South River by Mike's Crab House, wearing a beautiful black metalflake color. That is where this boat was kept for most of its life. The boat was trailered to Lake Anna and used there as well. Now, it is based on the Eastern Shore of Maryland in the Chester River.

I joined this forum to learn more about Checkmates and document my restoration of the boat! I look forward to interacting with the community!
