NEW POWER FOR THE PREDICTOR!!!

Hey Guys,
THanks to Ttown, the XR2 150 is being picked up on Saterday. Cant wait to hang it off the predictor and have some fun. My 115 will be up for sale now if anyone is interested. I will post it in the for sale section tonight after I get the pics.

Hey Adem L.

I just bought an XR2 for my Predictor. I cant wait to get rigged.
We will have to keep each other posted on our progress.
What did your Predictor run with the 115?
What do you think it will run with the XR2?
I am hoping for 65 maybe 70mph.

If your XR2 has the 2:1 gear case, try a new Laser II 26" prop as a good baseline. That prop/motor/boat combo is pretty close to 'dialed in' with the 26" Laser II.

If your motor is still completely stock top to bottom, enter the serial number into the Mercury Parts Express web site and it'll tell you your gear case ratio. That's one way.

i ran a laserII 26P on mine. i was able to get 78 mph out of it at 6400 rpm. it is a super efficiant prop. hole shot and midrange were great as well.

whats nice about the 26P is it has a smaller hub. it lets you spool up upon take off.

Awesome guys. I can't wait to see what kind of numbers you are getting once you get your boats set up with the 150's. As of right now I am still looking at getting Kary's Mariner 150 at some point. I would think that with a 150 and the right amount of goodies we should be able to see high 60's to low 70's.

82 mph in a predictor is plain gettin it. That must be a dandy of a ride. I think mine ran 55-60ish with a 115 merc. An xr2 would be an animal. Mate Fever, I see you're from Pella. I get to red rock several times a summer. I'll be looking for your predictor. There is an Enticer w/v4 omc power down there.

Show me some pics and I'll be lookin for it. I thought I was pretty much the only one in central Iowa with a Checkmate. Don't see too many around here, especially on Red Rock. On the Mississippi you see more. Let me know when youre coming down.

Adam, Your mate looks great with the XR2.
I have not even started to rig my XR2 on my Predictor yet.
I have been taking the boat out too much due to the great weather we have been having. I guess that is a bad thing about living in Florida.
You dont have any time to work, just play.

adam, you should pick up a hose kit like i have. they are only like 50 bucks and come with two billit bezels to mount on the boat. it cleans up all those wires and hoses. looks mean too. this is just before i attached them to the cowl. click on the thumb.

Hey Illmattic
I've like how that hose kit looks.
What did you do with the big hole on the star b side of the splash well were the wires originally went?

Sweeeeet

Hey Adam I know Ive said it before, We have to hook up this summer for a afternoon. I would love to take a ride in your predictor and Eliminator.
Wouldnt it be sweet running two 89' predictors side by side!
The motor looks awsome you got a great deal on it too, Good luck buddy.:surf:

ps. Im hoping to repower the predictor this summer, with what I dont know:shakehead:

Already got them. TTown hooked me up with them. He also hooked me up with new controls too! The one thing I am trying to figure out is how to install them so the engine can still trim all the way up (or most of the way up)

There was talk last year about a New England get together. I think it should happen this year!

i mounted mt bezels in the top of the splashwell. they really need to be on the top of the rear deck in front of the splashwell. i also fabricated this bracket with two supports coming out of each side of the cowl to hold the hoses closer to the cowl. they are not super snug to the cowl but they look good.
