NEW PROP 1988 PREDICTOR

I have an old mercury prop 13" diameter 21 pitch and looking to replace it. I weas considering a Mercury Trophy Plus hoping it will help with cornering while puling skiers and help some with acceleration. I have an 87 Mercury Inline 6 and can get 55 at 6000 rpm wot. Any thoughts on the Trophy Plus and what pitch?

I'm not familiar to the Trophy series, but I have a 22P Laser II on my Enticer (same hull) and I spin it up to 5900ish and get 57 - 58 mph (GPS).

I also have 20P Laser II and it definitely increases my hole shot and cornering. It feels like the boat is more nimble. I don't have any experience with pulling a skier though. I hope that helps.

Most any 4 blade will give you better bite.

When I ran a 115 on my old predictor the 21 was good for the top end and a 19 pulled them out of the water well.

Remember you will have allot less slip with a 4 blade. A smaller pitch may be needed to pull up a skier.

My boat seems to like the trophy definitely holds better on corners, and holds good for a great rooster tail, obviously the 24 isnt great for pulling people up, but would love to try a 19 or 21 at some point.

for what you described, the four blade would be the way to go. As the above responses said, you will need to step down in pitch to go with a four blade.

Where in south jersey are you?

If you are pulling skiers you will probably not want a ventilated trophy.. They don't really like the low/mid speed with the vent holes IMO

Stick with the 21 pitch when you go from (what I am assuming is) 3 blade to 4. I believe 6000 rpm is a hair too high anyway. When I had my 89 predictor with a 115 inline 6 merc it was happiest witha 4 blade 21 (23 for speed) and was turning 5800 (with the 23p which I'm pretty certain is the safe side of wot according to merc specs.
As I recall it also pulled anything short of a barn out on 1 ski using the 21.
Handling and holeshot were much better with 4 blades than 3.
