New Wind Deflector

Blue Mist '97

Active member
I have a set of Windaway deflectors for my boat. I didn't like them very much. My windshield sits pretty far away from the driver seat so the wind just kinda came around them and didn't do much good.

Decided to do a little modification, so I had a new, longer deflector cut to cover one half of the windshield. Only had 4 brackets and used 3 on this deflector. Think I have two brackets coming from a friend of mine, so if it works out I will make another one. I haven't tried it yet, but if it ever stops raining here, I am going to see if this one will work better.

Pic isn't very good. Boat was inside stall. I left the protective cover on the polycarbonate so it would photograph a little better. Will take more when I can get it outside and in the water.

Looks good. It's hard to find good deflectors and good hardware for them. I use these older clamps, with screens that I cut down.

Here is an update on Windaways wind deflectors.

A couple of pics of the new ones I made up. At 36" each they cover the entire windshield of my boat and deflect almost all the wind up and over the cockpit area. Makes for a very pleasant ride, even at 60+ mph, everyone in the cockpit . Carry on an almost normal conversation, wear your hat with the bill forward or just listen your motor cranking out horses.

By the way, how do you guys make your pics large?
