I have been trying to post in new member intros but with no results. I start with new thread in new member intros and type message plus a few pics off photobucket, every thing looks good on preview but when I hit submit a screen pops up saying Im not logged in or do not have privileges. I did log in and it says Iam untill I hit submit. On the posting rules below it states you may not post attachments, dont no if this is the problem or not. I am not a computer guy so any help would great, thanks.

Are you using the 'insert image' icon just above your post (looks like a yellow sky over a mountain) to show your photos off photobucket or using the 'manage attachments' button below the text box? Need to use the thingy above, not the thingy below...

It sounds like you have two separate issues.

The first one of not staying logged in, is typically a forum cookie issue. The typical cause of this is that the forum's cookie isn't being set on a user's hard-drive, which is what keeps a member logged in. That is usually caused by either a firewall or security settings being set where a user's computer is blocking the cookie.

As far as the picture posting issue is concerned, you won't be able to attach a file, you'll have to link to your image in your post.

There is a picture posting instruction thread pinned in this forum that might help once the first issue is resolved. You'll have to follow the hotlinking method.

Thanks Chris, but it even does the same thing with out trying to post pics yet I can post here in tech section. Isnt it the same thing with out the pics.

Well if you have no problem posting messages, then it's probably not a cookie issue.

When you try to post your pics in a message, what are you doing exactly?

First I log in to forum then to photobucket click on pic, copy direct link, then back to forum, click on yellow mountain box, enter link and paste. The pic shows just fine, I dont get the red X. I tryed to post in new member intros with out pics and got the same result, not logged in or dont have privileges. Ill keep trying it must be me.

Just paste it right in the box where you are typing, don't even use the yellow box, or copy and paste the photobucket address and I can post them.

Thanck you John I finely got it but after going back and looking at the post I had to scroll sideways to read it, same with pics, where did I go wrong. Can Chris that or not. Oh well it is what it is.

What the picture icon with the mountain does, is it wraps whatever text or code you paste into it in the img tags.

I'm not familar with the site you're using, but if it already has the img tags included, then you don't need or want to put a second set.

As John indicated, if that's the case, you can then just paste the image text into a post as is and it should display.

Perhaps this bulletin board code explanation and instruction page might help. :)

I fixed up the pics for you.

All's you have to do to avoid the scrolling issue is put an enter line between each batch of picture code.

So one line of picture code, hit enter once or twice...input another batch of code etc.

I personally have always just kept my posts to a minimal amount of pictures as I just find it confusing when I try to put multiple pictures in one single post.

after posting one of the links then hit enter and stack the links. if they are one right after another the pictures will be the same. make the links look like below

img code
img code
img code

like above they will be one on top of the other. if you put a space in between they will have white between them.
