Ok know i need prop help

21' bow rider.
So I swapped my 225 opti for a 250efi with A mod. tuner, simon 300 computers, milled heads, Boyenson reads, rebuild lower unit 1.75 gears with bob's low water pickup. I have a 25 trophy, and a 26 chopper. I want the best prop for top speed as the other 2 will be good for tubing and wife riding days. I haven't been out with the motor with the computers and the heads yet. They will be back this week, but with the 250 i'm only getting low 60's I have a Bob's 12 hydro jack plate. I have read guys getting mid 80's and I'm not even close. Any suggestions?

What altitude are you at? Big horsepower difference between someone boating at 600' above sea level compared to someone that's boating in Denver. If you're at high altitude, that can explain away quite a bit of power.

Low 60's GPS at sea level with a 250? That's WAY slow with the two props you listed. Are you sure? My 2100BR with the 225 Promax ran 68 with 6" setback and a 23" prop at 950' altitude. 73.5 with 10" setback, bow cover on, same 23" prop and same altitude. Propshaft about 4" below the pad. Something isn't adding up on your end.
I'd recommend you work on your setup with that trophy first before spending any money on props. You should be bouncing off the rev limiter and knocking on 80. What's your gear ratio? You don't have a high altitude LU on there do you?

top speed.

What model boat and year is it. need more than 21 bow rider. My 21 pulsare with a Merc 250 proxs ran 82mph everyday. I had a 27 Fury with Prop shaft 1.5 inches below the pad. motor had 12 inches of set back plus jack plate. These boats can gain a lot of weight over the years if they get wet inside all the time and the different 21 foot hull designs can vary the speed a lot too.

You need to post the propshaft height below pad, WOT rpms, gear ratio, setback and prop type and pitch. That will tell us a lot as to whether the motor is running right or if you have massive slip or whatever. There are definitely guys here that can help you figure it out.

I remember reading elsewhere that you have a 1995 Pulsare. I would find a truck scale and check the weight and make sure it is not waterlogged. They are 1375 dry + motor + fuel and junk in the boat. The 90's Pulsare floors are sometimes full of water and you could easily have an extra 500 pounds of weight. It might even explain the chime walk problem you had if you somehow had one side waterlogged. It seemed like there was something wrong with a Pulsare that chine waked at 50 mph. Whatever it is can likely be fixed.

Its a 1995 pulsar open bow. I bought it from madtown on here and he did a full restoration just before i bought it. If you search his name it will come up. The boat came with a 225 opti and was a slug with that motor too and thats why I bought this 250 efi with all the 300 stuff done to it. I think part of my chin walk problem is in the steering. It has a Sea Star and it has some play in it and i have been trying to work that out. As far as motor hight Its a bobs hydro, so I have tried everything from 1 1/2 below to 1 1/2 above. It handles better when it higher. I have very little seat time with the new motor as I'm waiting for the heads and computers to come back from Simon.
