Porsche offshore

interesting! but it must have not been a big hit or they would still be in the market. too bad as they do make great motors.

I am sure if one has the money to commission Porsche to build such a motor it can be had. It seems a motor like this is built on a one off basis.

Imagine finding parts for that one! Lamborghini made quite a few offshore motors too. Those were v12 and partnered with merc racing drives if i recall properly.

Porsche is making boats too. Not only engines.

The Porsche 928 aluminum V-8 marine engines where very short lived. 1986 was about it. They had no outdrives to go with them, so the OEM boat manufacturers had no interest in them, amoung other reasons. They were installed & tested on 188th street in north miami beach(otherwize known as offshore alley), in a couple Tempest Marine boats with their version of a surface drive & also with the new Mercuiser Bravo 1 drive that just came out. Too many installation problems, wrong torque curve, warranty issues, etc., etc. Mercruiser engine & drive packages just had too many advantages over them.
