Prop Advice

I've got a Pulsare 1850 BR with a Merc 150 EFI. The prop is currently a 23"P 3 blade aluminum. Lots of prop ventilation when trimmed up even a little or in not so tight turns. I'm considering going to a 4 blade S/S. I have a line on a barely used 21"P Vensura. Anybody have any experience with this prop? Any advice on 4 blade vs. 3 blade would also be appreciated.

4 blades are generally smoother with less vibration and can make handleing better. Less blades generally means less drag and more speed (Most drag boats use 2 blades), Almost any s/s will be better than an aluminum prop. I've never seen a good performance aluminum prop.

which 3 blade are you running? You might try something with a little more diameter in the same pitch range. generally you'll lose a little top end with a 4 blade (i have in every case), but when I'm having a problem with a prop ventilating everywhere and generally slipping, going to something larger diameter and a little more blade area always makes a difference... just my two cents
