Prop for a 175 Johnson on a '87 Starliner

jrogers

New member
I have a 21' starliner with a 175 Johnson. Both are 1987. I am looking for a good s/s prop. I heard the 22 pitch raker was a good choise.

I run the Cheasapeake and have to deal with rough water, so need to be able to run smoothly at lower speads (do to wakes and chop) and be able to get back up on speed quickly and smoothly, w/out alot of stress on the motor, once the wake and chop is gone. I don't really ski to much so not worried about that.

Does anyone have good advise on a prop to suit.

Thanks for the info. What size motor did you have. Trying to figure out if I should go with a 22 or 24 pitch.

For rough water and slow planing, I would go with the 23" 4 blade Renegade. I have the same boat and can turn a 25" Gade to 5800 RPM with a 200 HP. Great prop on the Starliner. Note...you need the right thrust washer as well. Is that Mooney's old boat?
