preez? I mainly get on here with my phone during the day.. and believe me viewing on a mobile is made much easier with tapatalk :)
 
Ok I'll bite.

I did a tiny bit of research on this tapatalk and read that it is suppose to make forum use with a mobile much faster, smoother etc. but the forum itself has to some how have tapatalk set up as well. I view the forums on my iPhone 4s a lot and it works fine. The only problem I have is with the search option. As soon as I type the first letter in the search bar my screen zooms way in on the top left corner of the page. I can go back to the search and my first letter will be there but with every letter it does this. Will tapatalk fix this?

Perhaps you can enlighten us on just how it works....

It's just a very nice, lightweight forum app. I have it setup on multiple forums to show me the new posts right off the bat... it goes DIRECTLY to the new post and sync's with your account so that your browser knows what you've read when you come back. I can hit the little arrow on my evo 4g, but I have sausage fingers, and sometimes I just click the title instead and have to scroll through it all, or I'll pull up a user profile. All becomes a non issue with tapatalk.

It also displays posts and attachments much better in a mobile device then viewing this as a full webpage. I wouldn't trade the full webpage for the world when I'm on my 27" monitor, but my 4.5" touch screen can use some better layout.

Searching with tapatalk as well too just works smooth on a mobile. It's a simple menu option in the application, type it in, bam all the results. Sometimes it's even easier to locate exactly what you searched for in big threads with tapatalk compared to a pc
 
Don't forget pictures, tapatalk let's you post pics from your phone. I know I've personally let threads go because I haven't felt like uploading pics on my wife's laptop( I use an I pad for everything at home now)
 
I've already checked into a few different mobile options.

Currently, the way the site is configured it wouldn't be compatable with any that I've looked at or seen so far.

Until we update the forum software we run - which many members have told us they don't want us to do - it will be hard for us to add any add-ons like Tapatalk or Forum Runner.

According to the footer we're on vbulletin 3.8.4, which many of the sites I frequent all use and are also tapatalk enabled. It's a pretty easy to install mod assuming you have full access to the install directories of the forum software.

Don't mind lending a hand or helping the setup of it if it's needed. It also doesn't modify the forum software OTHER then a header include to detect if you're a mobile device or computer (which actually you can leave out and it still works fine). It does piggyback the database for the forum though and can read/write from it's own app on mobile devices
 
Thanks for the offer of assistance, but I've already checked into it.

The way our site is configured, it's not possible to run those scripts without doing major upgrades and changes to the way the site is currently configured.

Unfortunately, we don't just run vB 3.8 alone, we are also running multiple other things like a portal as well as additional hacks etc. which are not compatible.
