Vintage Ship N Shore Air Horn Restoration

New member
I'm new to Checkmate Forums and any insight is appreciated. I recently purchased and in the process of restoring a 1955 Crestliner Viking Deluxe. Currently working on the air horn. It works; however, I'm not sure all the internal pieces are installed. The hollow "needle" part is loose inside (installed backward?) - doesn't seem correct. Does anyone have experience with these?

Regarding the air horn, it's great that it's operational, but dealing with the internal components can indeed be a puzzle. The loose "needle" part could indicate that it's not installed correctly or may be missing some components. It's worth investigating further to ensure proper functionality and authenticity.
Since Checkmate Forums is a treasure trove of knowledge, you might find valuable insights from other members who have tackled similar restoration projects or have experience with vintage air horns.
If you're considering upgrading or replacing parts, you might want to explore options to buy Milwaukee Train Horn online. This could provide you with the necessary components or even offer modern upgrades while maintaining the vintage charm of your Crestliner.
