HARDY DAM, MI

What's the boating like over there? I don't know anyone that's been out there before, but I may have the opportunity to get out on the west side of the state this summer.

I drive over it every Memorial heading to Silver Lake Sand Dunes....like I will be this weekend......I have been wanting to go there for some time now. I'm going to try and make it to Hot Boat Weekend there this year. It looks like fun and I always see some dang nice rigs pulling in there as I go by.

18 miles of wide open deep water. Lots of places to beach the boat on nice sand or anchor out. A good party spot if you're interented in that. A lot of people racing and doing speed passes if you are interested in that. A store and gas right on the river. If you are into camping the river has 6 campgrounds on it. Speed is no problem out there, a few 100+ mph boats every weekend and the law in the area is not bad...

just like what you're running in your sig pic.. Flat & fast up river.. Down river can get a bit chop when a lot of big boats are running. Most of the outboard boats race up river near 131 overpass. Go to youtube and search "Hardy Dam" and "Hot Boat Weekend"..

I was there Sunday for the first run of the year. Boat ran great. Michigan really is Checkmate country, there were a ton of them out.

Was out there all day Saturday.. Boat ran great and I had a blast. Bet I saw 20+ checks out there mostly bigger boats. Hot Boat Weekend is always the first weekend after Labor day.. This year it is Sept. 10th-12th with the big day being Saturday..
