HOW FAST IS YOUR CHECKMATE? EVERYONE!

Finally put new props on it. We had been running the same ones Checkmate put on it back in 2013. We had done enough testing to have a good idea of what the boat wanted.

283 checkmate 2000, how to make it run 90,

We actually ran 120 in the 300 when we had the engine set at 1725 hp.

    Awesome Punisher video!!

It has not yet been over 100. Best has been 99.something. There is still some hook on the port side that I think we'll fix over the winter. I'll probably try to borrow some props next spring and see if we can get it over the number. I do think we need either a little more diameter or a spacer in...

Boating in Unknown Lakes / Areas

Traverse City is pretty easy. West Bay is most popular and the Elmwood launch is great. You'll find lots of boaters around on weekends. We spend a lot of time up here.

    Prop Rotation

The 43 responds better turning in. There seems to be some confusion about what each does. Turning in induces more bow lift while turning out induces stern lift.

    IMCO And Dana Exhaust Systems

I used the Dana's on my 1700hp twin turbo motor and was totally happy with the performance. They are still on that motor and now have over 500 hours.

New 253 CM owner Trim Tab Advise

The tabs weren't wired wrong they were installed with what normally would be the port on the starboard and starboard on the port. It worked ok that way but if they were down a little, turno became a little interesting.

My 253 had a set of 280's. They were installed at Checkmate. Checkmate installed them reversed intentionally and they worked very well.

    281/283 with twins

Spinning the props in induces bow lift. Spinning out induces stern lift. The Punisher prefers spinning in.

    Tired 502 Options

Check out Ben @ Precision Power/Chief Engines in Spring Lake. They do all the work on our 43' and I trust them completely.
