    Interior work

The newer design is much easier to accomplish. $1500 is on the high end to restore the original. The foam is probably salvageable if you add a bit of dacron on the top. You could buy a new cover from the factory and install it yourself. Again, the newer design will be easier than the older one...

Not sure about those blocks. My 72 and 73 do not have them. As fall as gel over epoxy, I've read that it will work with the proper prep. Talk to west systems. That said I painted with Algrip and I am pleased how it is holding up. :)

72 Hustler Tunnel (sanity in question )

You must be psychic. The double ended bath tub arrives today. It took over a year for the project manager to decide on all the parts to make this take a leak dream come true. We are still waiting on the hand crafted fixtures from the UK:eyecrazy:. I can't wait to start on the kitchen. :banana...

    Waterproofing seat wood?

I also used epoxy. A word of caution though. It cures very hard. I have a good pneumatic staple gun shooting stainless staples. An arrow gun just wont cut it.

    Gear Grind/Clunk

Push it straight into gear and it will give a bit of a clunk. That is what you want. Easing into gear is not good for the clutch dogs. Make sure your idle speed is set right, 750rpms when in gear on my old Chizzler. :thumb:

1976 checkmate trimate III Transom Questions

Sounds like you will need to replace the transom for safe boating and peace of mind. No worries though, many have gone this road before. If you click on the link below you will see how I accomplished this. Also, look at Will's (Will30) Trimate restoration as he took a different approach. Keep us...
