    Just finished putting new rub rail insert and windshield screw trim insert from MJsportRJ. Took about 4 hrs total By myself.     You are correct, it depends on the “nickel content” of the stainless the Mercury uses.

    The magnet trick is unlikely to be successfully but worth a try I guess. The driveshaft is the only thing you are going to grab but the diameter will hinder it staying attached. Good luck

    That’s funny right there. Years ago when I had my 22’ OB Velocity my friend was avid fisherman. He said the the snappers blues were running down the bay.
