    2 inch drive spacer

The cost of speed is relevant. By this, I mean that if your boat is going 30 mph and you want to go 35, you can achieve that for a nominal amount of $$. If you are going 85 and want to go 90, you are going to dump some serious $$ to do that. So, if you went 5 mph faster with only $2k, you...

I dont smoke!! BTW, there is no such thing as cheap speed. If you have made a discovery for cheap speed, how about sharing it with us guys who spend a ton of money for speed.

    water pick-up

I am willing to bet that the water passage through the gimbal is rotted out. Thats why an offshore style pick up was installed. First thing I would do, is remove the block off plate and inspect the gimbal. Then access whether it can be used or not. Providing that it is not too far gone, I...

    Dry Exhaust

I run full dry CMI's. They are the best thing I ever did. No more reversion but without some sort of mufflers :sssh: , it was toooooo loud. I ended up with a set of GGB Extreme mufflers. Still plenty loud and no power loss.

    2 inch drive spacer

Thanks Pete. Yes, you are right. I have seen that and a bit more, but it is unusual. That day, we had a pretty good run. If I remember, it was pretty rough going the first leg heading east, then when we went back out into the ocean, the water layed down somewhat. It was an unusual cold...

    2 inch drive spacer

Hey Charlie, Nothing special, just a standard Bravo hub. Its just that I dont use that type anymore. The Imco lower I am running, uses 1 1/4" prop shaft, like the XR drives. Dogschool, has a standard Bravo, which uses a smaller propshaft. Dogschool, I did find the correct hub for...

    2 inch drive spacer

Next chance I get, I will look around for a small shaft prop hub.

    2 inch drive spacer

I have a Throttle-Up labbed 26" B-1, that was done for my 259. If you want to try it, maybe we can work out a deal. I dont think I have a hub that would work on a standard B-1 drive with the small prop shaft. I would have to look around. I used that prop with a basically stock 454 Magnum. I...

    2 inch drive spacer

Well, that may explain the excessive slip from the first computation. Here are the #'s with a 24" B-1, remember, actually a 22.5" .. Spinning a 22.5" to 4800 rpm give you a theoretical speed of 68. Your gps said 61, that puts your slip @ 10.3 % . Which makes more sense. You say it is a...

    2 inch drive spacer

As smallblockford said, a box stock prop is not the best way to go. I may add that getting a " Labbed " prop from someone elses boat may not work well either. I get a laugh when I see labbed props advertised in magazines. The question I have to ask, who the hell was the prop labbed for...

    2 inch drive spacer

Most likely, you have a 1.50 ratio in the drive. I will use that in the equation. Spinning a 23" prop to 5200 rpm , gives you a theoretical speed of 75.5 Using 64 mph as your top speed, gives you a slip of 15.3 %. Not bad for a 3 blade. I dont know who told you that you are at 95%...

    2 inch drive spacer

Old Navy, Not sure how fast it runs, I know its up there. He is from your area. Dogschool, The only formula to help determine whether or not a spacer will help os calculating your slip. The formula is as follows: First you need to calculate your theoretical speed. ((prop pitch X...

    2 inch drive spacer

Dogschool, That spacer is for a #6 drive, which I doubt you have. I know of only 1 Checkmate in the country with a #6. If you really want to try this, you need a Bravo spacer. http://www.livorsi.com/catalog/bravo.htm BTW, I depending on conditions and load, I can run 83-85 mph. I...
