    Engine hatch hinges

I checked the site. They look like quality stuff. I don't think (just by looking) those hinges will work. And, I am not sure if aluminum will be strong enough. Should I, or has anybody talked to the folks at Checkmate about possibly making a retro-fit hinge? Man, I would be willing to pay...

    Engine hatch hinges

Ohh, man. I am bangin' my head about it too. In about a month I will be taking the cover off and trying to think of a way to fix the problem. That engine hatch is so darn heavy. The hinges are just not strong enough to take the pounding on Lake St. Clair. If you come up with something, let me...

I know there are other forums with,"where are you from". But, just wanted to ask if there were any fellow LSC checkmate boaters on here. I know there are a few Checkmates out there. Let me know your out there. Maybe I have met you before? Just found this site the other day. Pretty awesome.

    Metal Flake

Leedo, I had thru hull on my 4.3 with my 1987 18' Sportfire. It was definatly impressive for a small engine that it was. It was red metal flake and got a whole lot of looks when I came around. It was a true hot rod.

    wanted: gauges

IllMATTic: I upgraded to Gaffrig on both my Checkmates I have owned and both times I bought from Trenton Marine in New Jersey. Absolutly is the best prices around. Believe me, I shopped around. Trenton beat all the west coast shops by 40%. www.trentonmarine.com

    My Checkmates.....so far!

My first was a 1987 18'Checkmate Sportfire. Sparkle red w/ black hull. Awesome little boat for the small Cass Lake in Waterford MI. Made a couple trips to Lake St. Clair, MI a few times with it and was emediatly hooked on the bigger lake. So I sold the boat relocated to Harrison Twp. And bought...

    Engine hatch hinges

Am having problems with the two-piece(take apart) hinges mounted to the engine hatch on my 97 Convincor253. They just don't seem strong enough. Other than hiring an expert welder/fabricator to make a stronger set. Does anybody have a quicker solution. Should I contact Checkmate to see what they...
