questions about my predictor.

ok have a few questions about predictors and im sure there will be more.

1. how long of a steering cable do i need for a predictor with a 6" setback.

2. would a jackplate bigger than 6" make it ride better?

3. what is the max hp on the coast guard plate say? im putting a 150 just curious.

4. is it hard to get in a predictor from the water do people put ladders on them?

5. is there anybody that would have done anything different or any suggestions before i start building my boat.

6. im thinking about when i build my back seat i want to build an ice chest into the back seat. what do yall think about that? (i have build them into truck beds and misc. things.) pros and cons of it being under the back seat?

let me know guys what you think

I am not Matt but, I do have lots of Predictor seat time.

1.14ft
2.dont go any more then 6" (4" would be better for watersports)
3.max hp rating is 125. I run a 150 and love it. The boat rides and feels better with a v6 (I had a 115:(
4.I dont know. Mine came with a ladder.
5.Not that I know of
6. Just remember that your fuel tank, bilge, and battery are back there.

83, who makes a 4 inch jackplate?

Stuff 83 said is right,
On my enticer some people struggle to get back in, but if you go around the back and step on the motor (I have a stupid whale thing on it so its even easier) they can get back in pretty easy. If you want a ladder you can get em through a company called aquarius I think, do a thread search for aquarius ladder and youll find the info you need to contact them.

If you decide the 150 is too much ill take it off ur hands :cheers

how much building are you doing? I redesigned my whole area behind the seat to make more storage, but had it all torn out to redo stuff, I dunno what id change if everythings ok, maybe add a bilge pump

thanks man good info. i dont have a motor right now but i plan to put a 150 on it. i am doing a total restoration. as of right now it is down to nothing but fiberglass waiting on transom, stringers, and floor. i can really build it however i want starting from scratch so im trying to get some ideas. you didnt put in a bilge pump?http://checkmate-boats.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12194&page=2
that is my rebuild thread. thanks guys keep the comments coming.

I did put a bilge pump in. As for the back, you can do whatever you want, I considered doing a built in cooler, but decided against it since then Id have to worry about melted ice and stuff, went with just a regular cooler that fits up between my windshield space that you dont have.
I ran big knees up to support the backseat and then left the sides and under the seat open for storage, toolbox fits right under the middle of the seat and then fenders and lines and stuff fit on the outsides of the knees perfectly. heres a picture, I still havent gotten the gastank back in, running a temp portable tank till I get time to put the real tank back in since I got it back from welding. Its basically gonna sit on a platform next to the battery.
