NEW Checkmate Maxxum Owner......Maybe

R1Racing

Member
Hello everyone, I thinking of purchasing a 1989 Maxxum 22' with the 260hp 5.7L and a Alpha 1 drive. This would be my first Mate. Im looking for some info. Such as:

What is the value of these boats in mint, good, and OK condition?
What would you consider Good condition?
What speeds are you guys getting?
How is the hull in the semi rough water?
What were the options for that year?
What other color schemes?
Any other facts or info would be great!!

Can you guys post some pics of you Maxxum's ????

Give us the link to the pics of the boat or where its for sale and we can give our opion.

Every boat is different when age is involved former ownership and up keep has a lot to do with value.

:welcome:

It is a private sale so i dont have a link or pics. Gel coat is faded but will come back. Interior is in goog shape, no tears or rips, and still soft, but it need a good shampoo cleaning from soda and grime. The engine is low hour and a good runner. The drve just had All the maintanace work done.

The HIN verifies a 1989 model and the owner did say i was a Maxxum. Looking at the pics it is defently the same layout as the 1990 Maxxum. The cabin entrance it the same, Black (not Teak) and on the port side (not center). It did have a "Custom Built......" tag on the dash if that helps......

229 Maxxum

I have a 1990 Maxxum. It happens to be the one in the Brochure. Its the o/b version and has a 300 Johnson. The boat is very sea worthy and handles a 2-3 chop effortlessly. It weighs app.2500 lds dry without the engine. The boat runs 65mph all day long. The color scheme is navy with red and white accents.I've seen these boats priced from 7-15k depending on the condition.
