Hey everyone I'm chase I'm a newbie here. Lol! I just recently picked up my newest checkmate and it's a 87 checkmate enforcer 24' with a 200hp mariner on it. The motor runs strong now that I got all the kinks out, required a external fuel pump, new plug wires, plugs, and cleaned the carbs. Right now for what I can tell it has a 26p prop there's not much to go by but it's has 2684 I think stamped on it I can't find a brand or anything else. At wot and trimmed up it's at 4800rpm and speedo (not gps) says 40mph. I'm trying to find out if that's where I need or should be? What rpm range should I be at and should I got up or down on prop pitch? My neighbor has a 23p prop I can try out as well. I'd like to see a little more mph out of it but I'm thinking that's about all she has being only a 200hp motor. This isn't a big concern bc I got th boat cheap bc the guy I bought it from wasn't mechanically inclined to mess with it and with $25 dollars and a few hrs labor it's running strong! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.
