My other love affair

Yup, I do love and cherish my Checkmate .....

However, for the past few weeks I've needed to give my "other" loved one some TLC.

This is the reason I've not posted much stuff of my Checkmate in recent weeks, --- my Harley has taken all my time and money for the past three four weeks, -- she's finally done {well for now anyway} and I'm super excited about how she came out.

I purchased this Heritage brand new in 2008, she has under gone many many changes over the years but I think I finally found the perfect customization after so many different iterations.

Here she is.....
In the last four weeks I replaced the entire front end with a 7 deg rake, 2 inch extension tubes, nice chrome triple tree, 21 inch 60 spoke wheel, new low profile run flat front tire, new lights, chrome custom sliders {notice the sleek covering of the front axle nuts}, new big air breather and screamin eagle race tune and fuel injection, big radius vance & hines rolling thunder pipes, 16 inch fat bar ape hangers, braided throttle/brake/and clutch cables, etc...etc...


I'll be selling a lot of the old parts on craigs list !!

Now it's time to hop on this thing and drive upto the lake to see my other loved one

Nice job Kurtster awesome looking Harley, i my self enjoy riding as well i have a 2012 Kawi ZX-14R with a Yosh single side ti full system, although i spend more time on the water with my Check it's nice to go out every once in a while on a spirited ride on the Kawi getting that adrenaline rush that this bike provides, enjoy your ride

Very nice bike Kurt! I basically traded my love for bikes for a love of boats. I love cruising a back road with no where to go.

A boat is the only thing that comes close to getting your nose into the wind on a bike. Picture this one: 96 Softail, solid rear wheel, 21 inch 80 spoked front, 34* rake on a lowered Day Frame, Sputhe cases and big bore ( no replacement for displacement), 6 speed, Corbin Gunfighter seat, custom (Jimster) bars with some setback risers, upswept drag pipes, Some tasteful chrome here and there, kind of a deep plum color with some pinstriping by you know who. Got a lot of miles on her now, kinda like it's owner, but she'll Still eagerly squirm out in front of the pack whenever requested.

That they do bone stock out of the box except for the speed limiter removed she did 198.7 mph on radar

Wow,
198 is out of my league, my rides are low and slow. I've got 2 modern Harleys, 4 vintage Harleys, and 3 vintage Triumphs. Hard to find the time to get out on the water as most weekends I go for bike trips, so most of my boating is after work during the week. This works out good as there are very few boats out when I go. Best of both world's for me.

I know this is a boating {Checkmate/Hustler boating} forum....but !

I have found over the years that very often when I would be making new friends on some of my long bike rides across state or across country, many conversations would be either about the bikes or about fast boats.
It does seem that the two very different machines do result in the same exhilarating satisfaction...... the feeling of control over big power / the feeling of wind in the face freedom / the heart pounding white knuckle speed / oh, and how the two very different machines seem to almost always involve really hot woman.

Oh sure fast cars fall into this category too, but that a thread for another day.........

I would love to see this thread built onto a bit more, am I'm guessing a lot of you would also like to see {and participate} with making a few additions to the thread.

So far we've seen and heard about a few members "other machine loves}...
