1974 MX-13 w/ 65 Johnson

I sold my 1972 Mx-13 for $1000 for just the boat and the trailer.

No front or rear seats were included, but I did sell it with the steering and factory trim tabs.

I had a 72 MX-13. First w/ a 4cyl 50 hp Merc 15" shaft. With what was the best stainless prop at the time it would run about 41-42 mph. ( raced it OPC "D" class)

Then re-rigged it with 73 Merc 85 hp w/a 15" shaft that had trim. It ran about 62 mph ( No GPS back then) on the boat's speedo that was next to me checking my speed.. That was w/a 2 blade bronze prop. What I thought was the "hot" set-up and what I could afford during my college days. Raced it in "FG" class.

Re-rigged again w/ a 1968 100hp " Screamin' Silo" Merc w/a 15" shaft. Now I had a ROCKET. Not sure how fast it was but it was a handful to drive. Still had the single steering in it too. It does have a small pad on it that you can run on but w/that motor it didn't use much. Biggest problem was not swamping it when you slowed down. You had to " re-accelerate" a few times before you could finally come to a complete idle. But it was fast and a " Head Turner".

I'm sure I was running in the low to mid-70's. But it felt like 100!!

(All of these engines were dropped right on the transom. It was/is a 18" one so your set-up was pretty much just like a built-in jackplate using a 15" shaft motor.)

Your rig is almost/is of that classic boat type. For what you'll get for it is it worth selling? The smaller boats are tougher to sell right now. But the RIGHT buyer will give you what it's worth. The BOAT has value. Don't give it away.

Your Mate' is selling to right buyer for about $1500 -$1700 right now. But I know we all need cash now too so that's your call.

73 MX 13 w/ 65 Johnson

The boat is definitely FOR SALE. Unfortunately it did not get in the water once this summer and I hate to see it not being used and appreciated. Condition is still really good.

Price: $1700 and I am willing to deliver within reason.

Feel free to contact me directly (tpbrinkman@gmail.com) if you would like to see pictures of something specific or to schedule a visit. I would be willing to do a test drive if you are local to Asheville, NC area.

Its a great boat for the right person.

Thanks

Very nice boat
Close to original. Would be an easy restoration. I have too many brands in the fire as it is!!
Would love to have it in the corral

Still FOR SALE

In an effort to really sell the boat, I've decided to lower the price to $1200 which is a steal for everything.

I'll also throw in a few extra props and the fuel cans.

Who needs a winter project??!!

Who wants a project for the long winter??
