1980 Checkmate Exciter with fresh Evinrude 235

I have a 1980 Checkmate Exciter I'm wanting to sell. The hull is clean and in good shape. It has a fresh 1985 evinrude 235 with 2 hrs on it. The motor was built by land and sea back in 88 with port work, bored carbs, high compression heads, intake, reeds, velocity stacks, light weight flywheel, etc. I had it freshend last winter by a shop, they replaced pistons, rings etc, typical rebuild. They also went over the boat and fixed anything else that was wrong. The guy at the shop said he put maybe 2hrs on it tuning and breaking it in. I have not taken it out yet. It also has a V8 lower unit which was rebuilt. I have 2 props maybe 3. One is a 24 pitch raker and the other is a 23 pitch shooter. I had a 25 pitch shooter but I can't seen to find it. The boat also has a trailer in nice shape. The fuel tank is in the rear of the boat. I also have a cover for the boat.

Ok, I have a ton of money in this boat, probably close to 10k. I'm asking $4000 but no reasonable offer will be refused. If anyone is interested let me know and I'll take some pics. I'm also willing to deliver anywhere in the US for a small fee. Thanks, Mark 812-760-1367

That's a steal! I had a Hydrostream V-King with this motor on, and man was it a screamer. Never left me down, always ran great, free bump!

yes it is. I'd post some pics on here but I haven't figured out how to yet. Anybody tell me?

First, you need to host your pics at a site like photobucket, then you can click the 'insert image' button (looks like a mountain with a yellow sky) and enter the URL of the image from photobucket. Then we get to see your rig!

If that doesn't help, there are other helpful threads here that go into more detail about the picture posting process.... just search!

I will try posting some pics tomorrow. I've taken the boat out a couple times. With the 24 pitch prop I shut the boat down at 70mph, the river was abit choppy that day. I also have 26 pitch prop I haven't tried yet. $3000 will buy the boat, my bill was more than that for the rebuild.

What do you think?
