Things have changed and spare time will be non-existent this summer.
1983 Checkmate Sportfire. I purchased it last summer and this has been owned by one or two forum members. It has the 3.7l and runs well. Runs cool and the motor is very clean. Floors are solid and the exterior looks awesome. The buckets are good and the rear bench has some of the thread pulling through the seams. It's useable how it is, but if I were to keep it, the interior would be next on the list. Pioneer head unit. Blue and silver flake... looks awesome in the sun and on the water.
Top speed with myself and full tank of fuel was 53mph GPS.
Updates:
Had the Gimble housing replaced by Kunkel's Marine in Mansfield.
Lower unit was replaced just prior to my purchase.
I just had the deck cleared by Kustom Kolors in marion (You can see a lot of his work on the big $$$ boats over S&F).
Never has any issues and ran well the 7-8 times I had her on the water last year....
Looking to get $4300 out of it (way less than I've put into it in the last 9 months)
