1983 Exciter

I have a 19' Exciter metal flake red and grey. The interior has new bucket seats in front, recovered rear bench, reupholstered side pads, and new carpet (Interior all done in white and carpet in grey). It has new faria white face gauges and a new mercury hand throttle. The boat has a 1986 Merc 175 black max. With a Merc trophy plus 23 pitch the speedo on a perfect day would read 71. The floor is solid, the transom has some stress cracks due to the jackplate on it. I did have the transom looked at and was told it good and solid. It sits on a new white Eagle trailer single axle with surge brakes. The trailer has the aluminum wheels. The boat also has a new stereo with rockford fosgate components and a 12" sony Xplode sub below front deck. This boat gets many looks due to its condition. It has always had a full body cover and is stored in a heated garage to protect the paint finish which is almost perfect. I haven’t seen a nicer one! Send me an e-mail at matt.peoples@investmentcenters.com with any questions. I’m asking $7,000 OBO. Thanks for looking!

I put the boat on ebay if anyone is interested.

Thanks

That's got to be one of the nicest looking Exciter's I've seen. I had to leave a note for you on your Ebay sale, even. I'd love to chat with ya before you pass it on to a new "proud" owner. I've been restoring a '79 myself and they have proved to be some what of a rarity in the Checkmate society. I'd love to have some detailed interior pics of some particular things. Good luck with your sale!!!! :thumb:

This one still has the factory Aluminum fuel tank located under the water well in the rear behind the back seat. It still had the factory serial number on it.

Trevor, do you remember if it was mounted "on top" of the floor, or was it receesed into the floor?

Okay, thanks. Mine is similar to the original then best I can figure, but is definately a newer aluminum tank.

You may want to find that starliner before you sell that boat. I drove 14 hrs to get mine... Rusty's is the only one for sale I know of - search the listings section. Bigger BR checkmates are in demand in general.

On the upside, a starliner will be a very stable ride and has a surprising amount of room, even for a 21' boat. My 1 and 4 yr olds are MUCH happier in that boat than the sporty. Going from a 17' sportfire to a starliner was night and day - space, ride and (unfortunately) gas-wise. It's alot more boat to push through the water. Towing in the flat mid-west wasn't too big a difference on the highway.

Good luck, beautiful, VERY clean looking boat!

He might have sold it already hence the reason he hasn't replied here. It was a clean boat and I know someone who is in the market.

I took a picture of the rear bench seat along with my boat to an upholstery shop here in New Orleans to have something similar done in it. I should have it back Thursday or Friday. I'll post some pics over the weekend.

As for the front buckets, I am not sure what was in the boat in this thread, but I used the ones below in my Exciter. I had no front seats in mine at all when I bought the boat.
