1987 Checkmate 2800 GTS with twin 200hp Merc outboards.

I am the original and only owner of this beautiful boat. For sure, 28 feet of quality, for those of you who don’t know Checkmate boats. I ordered and took delivery of this boat in late 1987. There are only 313 hours of operation on it. The boat has never been left in the water for extended periods of time. I trailer it whenever I use it. There were some years when the boat never did see the water (during a divorce) but, I kept it up anyway. In the last few years it has only been used 2 or 3 times each summer. There have been many details added to get it to the point where it is at now. The performance is great and it is a blast to drive. Someone needs to use and appreciate it for what it is. My boating days are over for awhile. All the pictures shown here are from last year.

200 HP Mercury Black Max engines with Mercury high-performance off shore lower units. Port engine/drive is counter-rotator. The boat goes through the water like a knife. Plastic two stage reed valves. The exhaust has been opened up on the lower units. 24 pitch SS chopper props. Trim Tabs. Stand-up drop down bolsters. Hynautic steering, Kiekhaefer controls. Dual batteries. Electronic tach / synchronizer. Powerful Stereo. Awesome cuddy cabin. Teak wood throughout. Storage cabinets. 12/110 volt refrigerator. Sink. Porta-Potty. Eating table (never used) for cabin. V-berth sleeps 2. Couches right and left. Cockpit cover. Full mooring cover. C-Hawk trailer (new tires last year). All the boating goodies (bumpers, swim ladder, lines, etc.) to go with it. I’ll have no use for them for awhile. $19,500

where is this boat located? is it red and white or cream and white. you can call me at 860 305 1164...i may be interested...thanks...al

In North East Illinois - right near the Wisconsin border. It's bright red on white. You would not beleive that this boat is a 1987 when you see it - honestly. I have many more pictures - I'll call you.

J.O. Burke, Great boat, I bought a 88 Starflite last summer from someone who also took great care of their boat. I can tell you that if your boat was around last summer that I would jump on it. Not to say I don't love mine, each time I thake it out everyone tells me "Nice new Checkmate", they're shocked when I tell them it's sixteen years old! Sorry you're selling it, hope yopu get another one soon! Good Luck!

J.O. is this the same boat that was over on Scream that many of us were drooling over?

It sure looks like the same boat,I love it!I wish the wife would let me spend the greenbacks and I would peddle the Starflight and be in my new 28 footer tommorow. How about peddle the wife and be living in my 28 footer tommorow?I guess it would be a bit cold in the winter.Better hold on to the wife another year and see what kind of mileage I get out of her.
