For Sale:
1989 Merc 115 (4cyl) 1 OWNER. Cosmetically in good condition. Motor could use a tune up. Will be checking the compression and will post numbers in a day or so. Motor needs a new power trim motor. The trim is working but it is on its way out. Still pushes the predictor in the upper 50's. As is $650. Sorry I cant ship it, but could help out a bit within New England. Controls and prop are NOT included.

Here is a Video link of it running

Adam, I may have to get this if the compression is okay. When you say it could use a tune up what do you mean? Is it runing rough? or it just needs a basic oil & plug tune up?
This would be a great motor for a small checkmate or hydrostream.;)

i hope you're upgrading the steering with that new motor - single cable is dangerous at higher speeds you're going to see with that new motor.

BP,
Plugs have been changesd every season, and the lower unit oil is also. For some reason every once and a while it only runs on 3 cylinders. I have no idea what it is (maybe electrical) But it doesnt happen all the time. I would say 75 percent of the time it runs perfect. I has been like that for a couple of seasons now and I have just lived with it because I know if I take it to a mechanic that I wont see it for 3 months. But the trim is definately on its way out.

Chris E,

Before that boat hits the water it will have dual cable on it.

MOTOR IS OIL INJECTED tank is built into motor

FRESH WATER ONLY-This motor has been run in fresh water its whole life

COMPRESSION NUMBERS

Here are the compression numbers from top to bottom. Engine was cold when these numbers were taken:

115
112
120
115

Is this still available ? Where abouts in New England is this located. It would be a Nice motor for My78 predictor.
