1995 21' Pulsare, stk 250, new best 91.1!!!

A few years back we had something similar to this pop up, namely, a owner that reported that his boat ran much faster than what is typically seen from a 2100 set up.

Things went back and forth a bit, with the owner standing his ground much like this time around.

Well it later turned out that the boat had been modified and had a slightly wider pad which was the explanation for the difference.

Here's the thread when the modified pad was discovered on TCAT's boat...unfortunately, the pictures are now gone.

It goes to show you that sometimes things people post are true and that often there is an explanation for the difference.

The question now is, what is the difference on this set-up and what can other owners learn from it to improve their own set-ups. :thumb:

Don't forget the 30P Clever.... and 6 miles of water to get top end!

After I get a 300 imma borrow a 32+ clever @ sea level, good water and a whole lotta blue in front of me. 100 outta be easy, just won't get there fast. :thumb:

One thing I think people forget is altitude. A guy running at sea level is going to go a LOT faster than a guy in Denver! Altitude makes a huge difference in engine power. Florida lakes are close to sea level, if not right at it.

I hope you make it! :)

I've lost track of who has run the fastest in a 2100 so far....is it Wildman?

I wonder what would happen if someone rigged up a 2100 with one of the new 350 H.P. Verado's or the Yamaha V-8 350 H.P.?

I know someone that's going to chase the century mark as soon as he can find a hull... :sssh::sssh:

Id like to know too, but from what ive been told the gearcases are so large they arent really much faster. Thats only from gearcases that dont have LWP though.

The 91mph pass was with my 4 blade, although, I believe the 30 cleaver would run faster if it wasn't all over the limiter! From the time I stand on it, which is around 70, it takes less than a mile to get topped out. With just me... longer with another person. Also, the hull is completely stock, along with the motor and 4 blade prop.

Are we drag racing or going for top end? I like drag racing too, maybe we can start timing are 0-80??? I'll change props. WTH??? I have a stock Pulsare for sale in the FS section if anyone is interested. Sean

Whenever u crack 90.00000000001 let us know. We'd like to know ur setup.

stick to your 'stream, exit stage left.

87.9 in my BR, one hand, no foot throttle, no bow cover, and a prop that accelerated like no other.

Cute how you are soo adamant about your friend's boat though, maybe a man-crush? Or just jealous his boat can handle over 3" chop? Either way, like I said before, props to valeroy - helluva beefed "stock" XB he has. Even pm'd me on S&F to sell... never got a response back tho. I can't imagine the fuel it consumes @ WOT!!!!! Not that it matters, but it does to me @ $4/gal.

With any luck, my 225 will be officially sold this week - the hunt for a 300XS is sure to be successful... 95+ is my goal. 100 if I had to bolt on an airplane propeller would be grand, just so I have that nice pretty number. lol :shakehead:

I prefer a good balance! :thumb:

I hardly ever go top speed, but 30-??? is commonplace, bogging down is not optimal.

Yea, i figured you had no interest since i saw that you were looking for a 300. I normally get 3-3.5mpg, with the occasional blast to wide open. Not great, but that's what it gets.

@ $5K I AM interested....300XS be $10K! Was curious the hrs it has? $5K buys a lot of petro!

not an expert, but from any boat i've ever owned, it's always a compromise with top end, or decent all around, or down low. If you find a great pulling prop that seems good everywhere, you ARE giving something up somewhere.

Badbk, why is it you seem to have such a problem with a fellow checkmate owner/forum member having a good running boat/setup?? The reason ive responded is because Sean happens to be a friend ive known for 25 yrs and his boat is my old boat. Ive had one of the top prob 3 fastest checkmate 2100s, on the forum and i didnt brag/talk **** at all when i did. I just enjoyed the boat, like most people. Im sorry u cant just be happy when someone else has done well with what they have. Im pretty sure there isnt ANYTHING Sean nor i can learn from u but a bad attitude.

Really dude? I did nothing but give him props for getting over the "hump"! Obviously, I'm curious of setup.. duh. Your cheap shots and mildly clever verbiage is the only thing I have a beef with. You're the only one that needs to GFO, the sooner the better, snakebite.

All u have done is doubt and make comments about how u think certain props work when i doubt u have ever run a cleaver prop on a checkmate. Im sure u wont get any setup advice from Sean. Ha

Well, pat yourself on the back because you are half right! I have never ever ever tried a clever, they don't fit the "mold" so to speak. I can explain if your simple mind cannot comprehend why, just ask! I wouldn't be so quick to speak for your buddy, I definitely won't ask you for any advise though; from what I've seen it's pretty worthless. If I ever stoop to a 'stream, expect a PM.
