Norm Teague, of Teague's custom marine has said that the mirage plus is better than the mirage. I would try one of those. If you like it have it lab finnished. Or call Throttle-up and talk to Julie. 727-531-2255

I think you're running 600+ RPM below your limiter. It seems low for a MAG running a 21 prop... Whats the max RPM you can get trimed to the max just below the point of blow out with tabs up.. What RPM does your rev limiter hit..
There are quite a few threads on this site on the same subject.. Look at 'WHATS THE BEST PROP?' post by KILLSHOT.. Check posts by MKHAMMER he has the same boat and BOATN70 has some good posts on this subject also

I have to agree with Donconviner your 454 mag should turn a 21 p 5000 rpm easy I would aay you are down on power. I suggest checking some things with your engine. When was your last tune up. you also can find a marine shop that has a prop shaft dyno to see if your engine is putting out the hp it should. If your sure your engine runs right then start picking a prop.

WOT and tabs up ..trimmed out the motor is spinning right a 5000 rpms....This is a little high..correct...was trying to get 48-4900max at Wot...This is best rpm isnt it..Was thinking about a 23 mirage plus

That sounds more like it. my old boat was a 25' larson senza W/ 502 mag I ran a 23 mirage lab at 5200 rpm all day never had a problem. 5000 rpm is not to high for your magnum engine. The magnum has a steel crank & 7/16 rods and is capable of turning higher rpm and staying together. find out what the recommended rpm range is at w.o.t and prop your boat to run at that. It sound like a 23 mirage plus may work just fine big blocks put out alot of torque it may not drop your rpm that much. pick a company that has a prop exchange policy. Thats my advice
