2400 brx I/O

boatn70

Well-known member
so after looking through the checkmate factory site i read this:

"According to Smith, approximately 60 percent of Pulsare 2400 BRX buyers order the boat with outboard power. After spending a little time in our test boat, we could see why."

so the other 40% were IOs, i havent seen any photos or performance data on these. are they out there? can anyone give any input....coop??

Quote was wrong....

This quote was wrong........not sure what they were reffering to ? Maybe i/o vers o/b sales in general... not sure. But ....we have plans to make an i/o version of the 2400 BRX. They kind of got pushed back because of the economy......will keep you guys updated, KC.

Sounds almost most like they meant it as people ordered them with motor rather than without motors I am guessing:confused:

I want one with a 496 H.O.

here here! I'll tell ya, I'm a German car tech and appreciate diagnostic problems, ECM's, emissions etc. It's just the way things are headed. But when it comes to a purely fun piece of machinery, I like simple. Outboards are much lighter, more efficient and allow for more usable room in the boat. But when it comes to problems, most mechanics have no clue as to where to look. Give me a big block chevy and even with injection, it's worlds easier to diagnose and fix in a hurry. Plus, in a pinch, many parts are available at any pep boys.

Outboards are great fun, especially in a checkmate that is so sensitive to trim ... I used to love to "fly" daren34's Diplomat Outboard. but I grew up in overpowered stern drive boats and just can't help but love them.
:surf:

Surely we can squeeze a 540 in there. Or, maybe whipple that 496 and see what kinda rocket we wind up with!!!
