A few questions on my new sportfire?

The boat is an 86 sportfire with a 205/v6 and alpha 1 outdrive. There are a few small things I'd like to make sure are ok before causing any damage.

First is if I pull on the prop (away from the transom) there is a little play, maybe a couple centimeters. It feels normal just figured I'd make sure.

Sencond concern is that when I put it in forward or reverse gear it makes a slight clunking noise until fully engaged, is this normal?

Third concern deals with oil pressure. At idle I am seeing about 1/4 (maybe a little less) at the gauge, at cruising speed a little over 1/4, and at WOT 1/2 on the gauge. Does this seem normal? I don't have any leaks, the boat sounds awsome, and I've had the boat out like 6 times and the oil still looks brand new.

Thanks in advance for any help. I'm probably just being paranoid, but you know how it is when you buy something used.

all the i/o ive owned had a little play when moving prop up and down.as for the clanking when shifting it will have a little you dont want to shift it too slow when shifting from neutral to the in gear position that would be before it starts applying the throttle, and as for the oil pressure is there any pressure # or like red and green areas?

Thanks for the reply you have set some of my worries to rest. The oil gauge has 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 marks with red just below the 1/4 mark and above the 3/4 mark. The pressure has not dropped into the red but it seems close at idle.
Thanks for the help it is much appreciated.

PS. you guys looked like you had a lot of fun on the poker run, great pics. I'll have to watch out for the next one.

well I would say the oil pressure is fine as long as its not in the red just monitor it and if you see any drastic changes then u may want to be concerened. But if it was me I would install a gauge with actual numbers i feel much better with actual #'s instead of what I call idiot gauges.thanks for the comp on the pics and yes it was a blast!!!!
