Broke my 502

Well got about 4.5 hrs on the boat saturday at the lake and about another 1 hr on the river yesterday.

So far so good, she seems to run really well. Varying the RPM's constantly is not alot of fun, but it will be worth it in the long run.

At what point (hours) can I change the name of this thread to "Fixed My 502":banana::banana:

an efi motor or a carb motor?

i have a motor thatll make it run at least 71-72, then i also have the procharger that will bolt right on and make it run at least 80-83....

thats how my 242 ran.

its all just sitting here for sale!! already sold the boat!
do you still have the motor for sale

A little over 11 trouble free hours so far. I think I am gonna change the name of this thread now.

Time for an oil change now.

Thanx hotdaddy,
When I saw this thread come back in the list of recent threads, the only thing I could think of was that I deserved whatever ribbing I was about to take.:shakehead:

BTW, I have about 40 hrs (in a season and a half) on the rebuild now and it is running great. Getting the stuff ready to winterize and I am thinking of getting a bilge heater since I will not be heating the garage again this winter.

But, thanx again for rubbing salt in the old wounds:poke: and if anybody else learns a lesson from my stupidity, then I am good with that.:rof:

:rof:

No ribbing here.:thumb: I keep my boat in my heated garage and have though about not winterizing it quite a few times. More so whe we get an "Indian Summer" in March with freezing temps to follow(take it out for a blast if there is no ice and just put it away).

With my luck, the heater in the garage would **** the bed an I would have a Small Block Popsicle!:eyecrazy:

I am glad to hear that your new motor is running well. Way to make the best out of a bad situation.:bigthumb:
