F150GT,
The boat handles beautifully, I don't have to drive thru ANY chine walking, It tracks straight but requires both hands on the wheel at all times because of moderate torque steer. - It has a hot foot and trim controls on the steering wheel. Everyone who rides in it is amazed that it handles so well .
The chine walking that many Pulse owners complain about is remidied by getting that motor up and using solid motor mounts. I run the prop shaft even with the pad and as soon as I drop it about an 1 inch or more it starts to chine walk. That sport master lower unit has low water pick-ups so I can run it high. I run 11 inches of set back but it still needs more positive trim than I like . I am not sure I want to put on any more stress on the transom by adding more set back but I think 14 inches is what it really needs.
The Prop is a 24 inch lightning ET and it is a great all around prop for water skiing, hole shot and top speed. The next best was a Trophy, better hole shot but 4 mph slower, (it still went 82 and I could pull up 2 slalom water skiers.)
I often have 7 people in it and give them a thrill when it pops into the 70's. MY biggest complaint is that it sure can go thru alot of gas in a couple of hours!!!
My best ever speed run was 88 at 7800rpm on a cool dry day in September and as I was slowing down, the motor siezed, ----I fried a piston because she was running toooooo lean, all six plugs were bright white with one partially melted, ( that was the plug that was firing the fried piston),-- bad gas and the dense cool air were the culprates. This Winter I am rebuilding her and installing an exhaust gas temperature gauge.

Sorry to hear you cooked it, at least it was at the end of the season so ya have time to get it back together. I'll try to get a picture of the custom set back bracket I made for my buddy's enchanter, It's 14" back with 5" of lift. The boat runs 70 and flys perfectly flat with very little trim, next I want to add a jackplate so we can dial it in easier.
I'm trying to find someone with a lightning 25 pitch to try, I think that will get me were I want.

What year is your pulse? Did the zig zag stripe come from the factory and is it in the gelcoat?

Jim

Hot babes and cool boats.

F150GT, The lightning ET prop only comes, as far as I know, in even numbered pitches so you could only get a 24 or a 26 inch prop. The ET is blueprinted so is is thinner and sharper than a regular prop so it revs higher, if you wanted a 25 I advise trying a 26,
jkeiper, I see you are in the neighborhood -About 30 miles away, we will have to get together next summer. About the gel-coat yea the design is in the paint and it came from the factory- Viking Colors- Go Vikings, ( I was at the game where Randy Moss fliped the ball over his head and behind him to Mo williams who ran for the touch down. That play made all the espn highlights but I missed the flip because I thought Moss was down- I looked at the clock to see if there was any time left,-I hear all kinds of cheering and when I look back at the field , we scored.) It was the first game I had been to in 20 years and I missed what they are saying here in Minnesota was the most spectacular play in the history of the Vikings. Enough about purple and Gold, but those are the graphics colors on my boat, The carpeting is also purple.( By the way I didn't order the boat that way ,I got a deal on It because the dealer got it in 1996 from the factory and I bought it in 98 with a 175 Merc efi). I like the looks of it!!! especially with that big Merc on the back.
