I DONT HAVE ONE..

I Just bought a 1980 16ft Checkmate to run around and play with and while cleaning/waxing and going over it I noticed I dont have a pump.

Is this normal? I dont see a whole lot of room to install one.. would it go behind the fuel tank? if so would I have to pull the tank>?

I'm the 2nd owner and its all original except the front seats. I picked up a couple low back buckets that I'll have reupholstered this week to match the paint

Mine is under the fuel tank in the well that the plug in the back of the boat leads to. Yes, you have to pull the tank out to get there.

The one in my Starliner is behind the tank between he tank and the transom. I was able to take it out without much trouble this spring whenI was sorting out some details back there.

as far as I can tell most of them didnt have a pump to start, I put one in mine when I rebuilt it, but made plenty of room in the back by getting rid of the floor and all the foam behind the bench, there is room in that little sump by the drain for one though if you pull the tank
