Checkmate Boat ZT280 HP500 - $35000

This boat looks like a great price and my wife has been buggin me to go look at it. Its only a 30 minute ride from me. I just dont want a boat payment until things get better. If anyones interested I could look it over. West Bloomfield is a real nice area and im sure it is a nice rig.

And you say your wife has to bug you to go look at it. I would have been out the door as soon as she said it! :poke:

Well, ya know what they say... if it looks too good to be true....

Someone putting eyes on would take a lot of hemming and hawing out of the equation, might even push someone* into pulling the trigger if it checks out.

How long are the 500 blue motors good for/rebuild/etc? How do they take a power adder?

I just keep having flashbacks of all the payments I made on my bass boats during the long Michigan winters. I have been paying cash for toys over the last 5 years and am much happier. This boat looks sweet but a little under powered for my liking. The 500EFI is 470 hp (502) which is the same motor i'm running in my Persuader but I have an 850 Holley instead of EFI minus the blue paint. Badbk this is low hours for a 500 and should not need a rebuild for many years. Whipple or Procharger and that will change things a bit. When my wife finishes nursing school in May we will see what happens on a new rig. For now I am content with what I have. Steppin up would also require stepping up my tow rig which I will be doing soon. Looks like a sweet deal with some nice upgrades.
