Hey Guy's Im new to this site but a past Checkmate owner. I recently Purchased a 1995 pulse 186 with a 1999 150 hp Evinrude fuel injected motor. boat and motor are in excellent shape. My question is if anyone is familiar with these motor's as I have always had mercury's. I had the boat out and had a check engine light come on. the boat has great water pressure, oil mixture seem's to be fine and water temp is dead on. The motor run's a little ruff when cold but run's great when warmed up. the boat run's about 62 mph at 5000 rpm's with 2 people in the boat with a 14 3/4 x 23" prop. the light went off for a while and came back on after a restart and stayed on. any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

I have always heard that the check engine light on an Evinrude was for fuel pressure. either low fuel or debris in the system can cause it. It is activated by a vacuum switch on the vapor separator above and behind the VRO Pump (actually OMS Pump)
