hi I am new checkmate owner
having trouble with my depth finder,,it keeps reading 2.6-2.7 as I am running,,only when running slow do i get a good reading,,Is the boat to fast for the depth finder?? I have a Impulse QT-204,,my other cheap one in my old boat use to work great even at 35mph,,this one don't seem to read after 10mph

ok mine is mnted inside the hull shoot thru . but my instructions on mnting seemed to say mnt how yours is but wath out 4 aireation /cavitation frm the hull , it could be off on height n angle as well im sure youll get more hits n advice . boat looks great !

Thanks, runs great too..Learning how to use the jack plate.and getting use to the speed and the feel of the boat,,Scary when first went out,I am afraid to trim to high and get that prop out of the water,,,should I be attempting bends in the river when all trimmed out??or lower the trim for a better grip..
I took some turns but was very gentle about it,but was afraid that boat may skip out at 60

Half of your transducer should be below the hull, if it's above then when your at speed it's out of the water. Here's a pic for ya.
