enchanter rating

1980 ENCHANTER

New member
I have a 1980 enchanter outboard and the coast guard plate is unreadable can anyone tell me the max hp and capacity for this boat please. it has a 150 merc with 10 in plate and 23p prop which I know is small for these boats just wandering what I can legally go to. also do yall think a 26p would b beter on this setup as is.

That plate probably says 250hp, that's what my 88 Starflite said. I do know that you can call Checkmate and have a new one made and they will put up to 300hp on it for you.

HP Rating

I have a 1979 Entertainer model that I bought new in 1979 which is the same hull as the enchanter. The HP rating for my entertainer is 215 HP.

il be looking for a 80s 225 merc then. the 150 is pushing right at 60 with 3 people in it but I think I can go up on prop because it jumps out the water on take off no problem with the 23p just runs out of push on top end
