Engine swap price quote.

You're in the auto business so you know book time ain't reality time. I would figure that it would take a full day to do the swap and then a couple of hours to go through the carb and water test the whole thing. If it takes 10 or 11 hours to actually do it then 15 hours book time isn't out of whack.

Is there a labor time guide in the boating industry like we have in automotive? We follow that pretty closely in our service dept. In the body shop we just get screwed by insurance companies.

I'm ASSuming there is. I know the body shops get it on insurance jobs like I used to on warranty work as a mechanic. So glad to be out of that business.

Warranty works beats you up harder than an insurance company, Thanks to the G.M./ Obama Motors merger we no longer have to deal with warranty work.

I ended up paying $1500 and that included rebuilding the carb, changing all the fluids in the outdrive, replacing a seal in the outdrive, painting the new motor also full fit and finish. I was worried in the beginning but now feel it was a good deal. They did a good job. Thanks for all the inputs everyone.

Congrats on getting it all together, now get out there and enjoy it. :poke:Don't forget to take some pics.
