"Wanted" Exciter I/O engine cover

The Stone

New member
The engine cover on my 1985 exciter I/O had two large holes cut into it to clear taller risers. I'd like to find a replacement engine cover for my boat, preferably in the same dark blue. But as long as it's in good shape, I can have the color matched.

Thank you,
Chris

I don't have one for you but will share a little info to help your search.

The Eluder is the open bow version of the Exciter and has the same engine cover. Note that while the models ran from 1979 to 1986 there was a change in 83 to the engine cover. The earlier hatch would still fit the opening but will look slightly different.

I wish you success in your search, I think you will have a difficult time finding one, but hope you get lucky. I would start looking into having a shop repair the one you have as that will likely be your only option anyway. A good glass guy will be able to patch it and match it to the boat very well.

I checked a few years back to see if Checkmate still had the molds for the Eluder I/O engine cover and they did not, so getting another one made was not an option.

Hey, thanks for the response. I knew it was a long shot, but figured this forum would be my best chance of finding one... I've been looking at craigslist for a while and couldn't find any parts boats. I'll look for someone that can fix it when spring is close...
