Checkmates may not be the fastest boats on the water, but they are the nicest looking!

Wow guys, its all great advice but you still lost me.I am sorry I am so not understanding the terms. The guy who built the motor says it should run about 7,000rpms.( but not to run it there for any length of time) I know he did move the motor up a bolt hole since my jack plate would'nt go up further. He did show me that when you look down the bottom of the boat from the bow the scag is flush with the bottom of the boat.Im not sure what you mean by cavatation plate.Like I said, I am still learning all this as I go. Thanks to all of you for your patients. To bad none of you live in Pa, I would love to have you over to my neck of the woods and get my check set up right. There are not very many performance shops where I live.as far as props go, The speed shop who built the motor lets me try props and I have yet to find one better than my 26 pitch chopper. Actually I do not have a working water guage. I will put that 1st on my list. I do have low water pick up too.

Anything to help. That list HAS helped me alot too with all the terminology that I would never need to know. Good idea, I should print it out too....
