Hi Gang,
Just a heads up that I'm going to be doing some upgrades to the forum & portal over the next two or three days.
I'm currently working though the updates on Endless Boating. Once I've worked through them on EB and worked out the gremlins, I'll be updating the Check forums. The upgrading process will most likely involve the site being down for a number of hours to perform the necessary site backups and then upgrades. During the down time, I would invite you to pop into Endless Boating for a visit, to say hello, or keep up with the gang while the site is down.
The upgrades will add further functionality to the forums, it will also involve upgrades to the some of the site templates and underlying code.
Therefore, if you have any issues trying to log in to the site, or viewing the site once the upgrades are completed, I recommend that you first try logging out of the site and then back in. Doing this will normally erase your site cookie which is stored on your hard drive. The site cookie performs a few functions, but most importantly it saves your preferences and keeps you logged in. This is where most of the issues arise after upgrades to the site, as it is possible that when you return, the cookie on your hard drive might be calling for settings or information which which has since been changed during the upgrades. And that is where browser issues arise and you get oddball problems like corrupted pages, or error messages like "page not available" etc.
If you still have issues after you log out and back in, you can also try manually erasing your forum cookie and temporary files as an extra step.
Just keep in mind that if you erase all your cookies and temp files that you may lose some of your auto login data for other sites as well.
If neither of those fixes work, you can shoot me an email and I'll do my best to help.
-Chris
