how does tnt motor mount to boat?

Ok, this is my problem, the tnt motor is to the side of the aluminum fuel tank opposite of the battery in my old/new 79 predictor. it is not mounted to anything, it is just sitting there. Every once in a while it will bang into the fuel tank and spark. NOT good, how is it mounted orignally? The old owner says it was like that when he got it and never could fig out how to bolt it down.
